Default At what price success?

For the longest time, I could only get my birds to eat a couple vegetables: Mashed sweet potatoes or squash with seed in it (started out by accidentally ingesting orange stuff to get to the seeds) or julienned spinach or kale, again over seed (started out by accidentally ingesting green stuff by foraging to get to the seeds). Do we sense a trend?

Recently, though, we had a major breakthrough, and they've been willing to try anything in their food bowl as long as it's chopped up small enough. HOORAY!

But the day we tried red bell pepper? Dude. That is some ALARMING poop.

Wishing you all vegetable successes with little to no trauma!

....Thank's for the laugh Karen, and of course Congrat's on your veggie success. My bird's never get anything but green's, and a little carrot now and then, so I don't get to experience the multi colored dropping's, but maybe I will start chopping up some red pepper's for them so I can see this firsthand....

It was especially dramatic because they apparently LOVED the red pepper, so they ate that over any of their other options. Not only is red pepper really red, it also has a high water content. You can imagine! Smaller portions next time, definitely.
