Default want to give his diet a twist

When I was growing up my mother fed us 'sattu' mixed in sugar and water. Now sattu is a mix of ground grains such as Bengal gram, barley, some pulses...its high protein and totally organic. Would it be okay if I fed buzz the same? No sugar, just mixed with water...somewhere I read I can feed him cerelac, so I guess sattu is better because its totally organic.

They grains you mention should be fine to feed your little one. I would check each of the sattu ingredients against a bird safe food list just to be on the safe side though.

The ingredients you listed as being in sattu are safe for budgies.

In India we can ask a mill to grind fresh grains for us according to my liking to make my own sattu, so I think this is a good plan I am almost always thinking about what would make him a healthier, happier bird...thanks for your replies!

This sounds very interesting. I tried to look up sattu but can't find any proper recipes. What ingredients do you use apart from Bengal gram?
