Default Probiotics, egg food and vitamins what is the best

Hello you lovely people!

I'm sure you must get bored of all the same questions from us newbies but this newbie is stuck!

So i keep trying Pippin on her veggies and fruit, none of which she has taken to yet. I will keep trying i'm not giving up, she will be a good budgie and eat her greens! Anyways i worry that her seed based diet just doesn't give her the vitamins and what i've read has confirmed this. So i've brought egg food which i have added to her seed mix and she does eat it. I also have vitamin drops to put in her water which i've not used yet as i've read in a lot of places that this stuff is not good for them! Also i've read about probiotics being good for budgies that do not eat veg.

So if i feed her egg food is this enough or does she need anything else to supplement her diet until see does eat her greens? She does have a mineral block and cuttlefish in her cage as well but she hasn't touched them at all.

You can make a budgie bread, you can get some ideas by reading the stickies on recipes. Another thing you can do is to smash a hard-boiled egg on a plate, mix it with seeds and greens and then give it to your budgie. It's a good trick. Apart from these, you can give fruit once a week (pear, apple, etc). I hope this helps!

Egg food is a great way to get some extra vitamins etc into your budgie. As Despina said, if she is eating that you could also try birdie bread.

You will need to find out what is in the egg food and just what extra's she is getting accordingly. Then decide if suppliments are also required. A little Apple Cider Vinegar (organic and unfiltered) added to her water a couple of times a week will also help. I personally only give my budgies probiotics if they have been on antibiotics.

It can be overwhelming when you enter a shop and see all of the products they say are needed.
My own personal view is . A varied and healthy diet should provide all the necessary vitamins and minerals needed.
Cuttle bone and calcium blocks should be available especially when in condition, hens definitely for egg shell production and healthy chicks.
I do sprinkle probiotics over my seed and pellet mix, my budgies get seed, pellets and crumbles all in together. I also give greens in one form or another every day. We collect fresh grass and sprouts as well.
I add apple cider vinegar to the water twice a week.
I place the cage outside for them to get vitamin D from the sun.
Egg food is loved this is given as a treat or if they are sick.
My budget doesn't like millet, for a treat he gets a small piece of whole grain bread which he devours the seeds from.
Basically it is your choice as to what you feed it does take time and patience to get them eating vegies and other foods don't give up.

Thank you everyone! I've got a much clearer idea of what I need for Pippin now

I'm definitely going to give budgie bread a go and get some apple cider vinegar!
