Default Butternut squash?

Bought some butternut squash already in cubes, I've never tried it myself. Just wondered how you serve it to budgies?

I cook squash, let it cool, and mash or puree it. Then we play the fun game where I try to find all the places that four squash-loving budgies can manage to excitedly fling little bits of pureed squash, and clean it up before it hardens. Pureed squash is also great for hilarious/embarrassing veggie-face pictures.

You can also mix a little seed into it and let them try it that way.

My parrots love it. I just buy a whole squash and cut it myself. I find it's cleaner (from bacteria growth) if it's not pre-cut. I'd wash the pre-cut kind first, and use it right away. Anyway, I feed it raw and they love it.

For budgies you'll of course only need a little, and cut it up small (I wish my budgies like veggies! I'm trying!)

For you, steam it, and eat it with either butter, or low cal with seasoning. Or... find a recipe for butternut squash soup mmm...
