Default Lefeber Pellets?

My birds didn't go for roudybush pellets in the slightest. My female budgie Sierra had great fun sitting at the food dish all day dumping the pellets on the floor one by one (I say floor because she was throwing them outside the cage in protest). I decided to try a different pellet so I bought some Lefeber pellets. This time, Sierra didn't eat them but she did not toss them out like every other brand I have tried and actually chewed on them before spitting them back into the cup!

I also have these questions about the pellets:

If I can get one of them eating pellets will the other three copy out of curiosity like how when one of my birds discovered he liked bell peppers and his cage mate copied?

Has anyone else used Lafeber pellets before? I read a review that said their bird had a vitamin A I think deficiency on them but all the others were positive. It's been on my mind since I gave them the pellets.

Hi Elena,

I had to laugh at your little rascal throwing her pellets out in protest! it's funny and cute how our little birdies tell us what they do and don't like

Yes if one of them starts eating it the others will follow. You can also try a small mirror near the food to get things started

Best of luck with it

Yes, she has quite the personality. If I'm feeding her millet and the ball runs out of seeds on the side being held up, she bites in protest of poor service then lets go as soon as the ball is turned over... I just realized that maybe I'm the one being trained...

Do you have any mirror suggestions that can be attached to a cage? She's very competitive so that might work if she continues to be interested in the pellets.

If you search online budgie toys there are usually plenty of hanging mirror toys that you can get.

I give Sprite a 50/50 mix of seed (mix) and Lefeber pellets. Sprite picks out all the seeds, then starts complaining about the pellets. Many of the pellets have been broken, but I'm not convinced that many have been eaten. At least he hasn't started pitching them out of the cage yet
