Default should this be the diet for my new pet budgie?

i'm new to this (and i will be getting my first budgie soon), so i have no idea if this is a good diet. i saw that alot of people think that 'zupreem fruitblend' is good? i'll also put some veggies(spinach, etc) and fruits(baby apples, blueberries, etc) in there too. would that be a good diet?

Hello!

There is a heap of very useful information on this forum.
I cannot comment on the brand you're citing but I suggest you have a browse through this section of the forum:

Especially this post:

This article has also helped me make some healthy choices (although when it comes to greens our bird does not seem to agree with said choices)

I hope this helps (until more experienced members come and offer better advice...

Providing a good diet for your budgie is extremely important.
As far as I am concerned a varied and fresh diet is the best in my books. I provide a small amount of seed mixed with pellets and crumbles I also sprinkle probiotics over this mix. Every second or third day I offer egg and biscuit mix. Every day my budgies have a selection of green fresh grasses I pick, thyme, basil, broccoli, parsley sprouts not all of these at once LOL just a couple. Budgies are notorious fussy eaters if you have budgie raised on a seed only diet you need to go about changing it slowly and steadily.

Hi there and welcome to the forums!
ZuPreem Fruitblend (get the canary size, it's easier for budgies to eat) is a good brand of pellets, my little one loves it.
It's awesome that you've been doing your research before getting your little friend--that's the best way to do it.
Sounds like you're on your way to having a very healthy little budgie!

Now, just a reminder: Many birds, when you get them, do not already eat pellets. Make sure to transition your budgie onto pellets gradually, by starting with whatever they were eating first (talk to the breeder or pet store) and slowly adding in more and more pellets. Some budgies take time to adjust, but don't give up!

Also, if possible, it's better to get your new little friend from a good breeder or small store instead of a big-box pet store, as those often come from parrot mills.

Keep us posted on the arrival of your little budgie and it's great to have you here with us! Feel free to ask us about anything you're wondering about.
