Default Kale

I love kale, and I know my budgie loves it too (green, curly). But does it matter what kind of kale it is? For example, the one I have recently bought is kind of reddish-tinged. And I know there is non-curly kale or entirely purple kale. Are these all equally healthy?

I only buy the Lacinato kale. The reason is, I love the taste of that one. It's the very dark green one without ruffled edges. Some stores call it Dino kale, I guess because it is textured like dinosaur skin? I'm sure they're all "healthy", but I think the darker green is packed with more vitamins?

A couple of my parrots love it too. I wish the budgies did.

The different colours will have different levels of nutrients, so varying it will be both healthy ad interesting.

I say organic is the way to go. Can you grow your own?

Thanks guys! I was just wondering if it's safe no matter the colour.

And @Spiritbird - I am indeed growing my own as the weather here improves!

Kale is best planted in the fall, and harvested in the winter after the second freeze... Makes it taste better...

Just so you know.
