Question Question

I tried searching online for a health food store that sells organic stuff but only one result came up. Looking at it from google map it doesn't seem all that good. IS there anywhere i can possibly get organic food for my birds? The only other results involve me traveling far for it. :/

Hi, is it at all possible for you to grow your own foods? Sprouting kits are available most budgies love this there is also sprouting instructions in the stickies. Plant a small vegetable garden even in a window box. Parsley, thyme , basil, are all easy to grow. Fresh grasses are wonderful as well.

Also, does your local grocery store sell organic produce at all? Maybe you don't have to go to a health food store specifically.
As Cathy mentioned, growing your own is always a wonderful option. Many herbs grow with little or no effort.

Thanks guys.My local groceries don't sell organic stuff. I will try sprouting my own vegetables someday. I'll just have to go to take the train to find a store. . - . I hate long rides but you gotta do what you gotta do i guess.

Since you have to look so hard for a store that sells organic produce, I'm guessing that you probably don't eat it yourself. May I ask why you are so keen to get organic things for your bird?

Is it organic bird food (i.e. Pellets/seeds/crumbs) that you are looking for or fresh food such as fruits and veggies, or both?

I can't see in what country you live, which makes it that little bit harder to help with specific answers. Is it possible for you to order online? More often than not, mailing cost will be less than a train ride

With fresh produce, there are many ways to remove and/or neutralise pesticides that may remain on the veggies and fruits. Leaving them for a few minutes in a sink filled with water and a cup of white vinegar is one of them.
It's not just good for birds do do that

As for sprouting, I do it myself and enjoy it immensely. Our bird doesn't yet eat sprouts but we're getting there (I sprout for myself and our family). You don't even need a kit: a large glass jar will do. Replace the lid by an elastic band holding either a cheese cloth, bit of mesh or even a piece of old (but clean ) stocking.
Here is a video showing you how easy it is:

I hope this helps

I'm looking for organic food or veggies because of the amount of pesticides in the non organic ones. I found a food store that i can get to that sells organic stuff by train ride that isn't so far but thanks for the advice. If i was to order online do you have any recommendations of where i can get it from?
