Question Apple Cider Vingear dosages for water bottles?

I used water bottles for my first budgie, which I never realized how much easier they were compared to water bowls when I got my next set of budgies and was too paranoid about them not being able to figure out how to use a water bottle! Now I have budgies again, and gotten them on water bottle, which they both picked up within a few days! I have no desire to ever go back to water bowls- that was the worst experience of my life. They always got food and poop and feathers and such in them, and I had to change their water at least 3 times a day.

That being said, I've started reading some of the articles on Apple Cider Vinegar, and since I plan to breed my budgies, I want them to be as healthy as possible and strengthen their immune systems and whatnot. Can I add ACV to a water bottle, or would I have to refill it every day or week to make sure they aren't getting too much or if it spoils? What dosage would I add to their water, how often, and how do I know how many ounces my water bottle holds if I got it several years ago and the label is worn off by now? Will the dosage change if I have multiple budgies using the same bottle? I currently have two, but am planning on eventually getting a few more. Thanks in advance!

I am not a breeder but I do believe ACV is not part of conditioning a bird. Usually there is a medical reason to acidify the water our birds drink. However if you want to do this for a short time like 1 or 2 weeks I cannot see how it would be harmful. The correct measurement is 2 tsp. ACV with mother in 1 quart (32 oz) of water.

You can measure the amount of water your water bottle holds by using a measuring cup to fill it.
Then you'll know exactly how many ounces your water bottle holds.

I think using ACV as a natural pro-biotic is an excellent choice.

I would suggest you change the water in the bottle every few days.
The dosage will not change whether there is one budgie using the water bottle or multipe budgies using it.

Thank you so much! I'll be sure to get some ACV with the mother in the next few days

I believe a regimen of regular use is one of the easiest, cheapest, health help's you can do for your bird's. Mine get ACV in their water every third day, and have for a couple year's now. My avian vet highly recommend's it's regular use, and even uses it himself in addition to giving it to his bird's...

Yeah, that definitely makes sense . If I give it every third day or weekly or something like that, should I be changing their water daily to ensure they aren't getting too much though? Or would it still be okay to only change it every few days?
