Default Grass with seed heads - favorite

It amazes me how much my budgies like grass seed heads, so much that they don't even bother with millet spray!

Here are the two types they love, the only two I can find in our yard.
(Not my pics)

This first one, foxtail, they like when it's still green.

This one they eat no matter if it's young green or already drying.

Yes, my budgies love any wild grass, I try to pick them some every day and they just love it.

When I see mine liking it so much, I often wonder if this is something very similar to what budgies in the wild eat.

I would love to try this! How do you know its safe wild seed to eat? Will they not touch it if it's bad? Could it carry parasites that could make them sick? Man I am soo interested ;-) never would have thought to try that
