Default Don't think my budgie is drinking!

Hi we've had our bird nearly 3 weeks, I've been keeping an eye on his water but it never seems to get any lower, he has a honey bell with fruit in it, which he likes. Is he getting everything he needs from this and that could be why he's not drinking? Getting a bit worried now, I know he needs time to get used to things in his cage but he's started playing with his toys, so I think he's quiet happy now in his new home. Any advice please tia xx Emma xx

Budgies take very little water, so you'll never really see much of a difference in water intake when you replenish fresh water daily for your budgie.
Budgies are also known for being extra sneaky when it comes to drinking water, they like to do it when we're not looking. Surely your budgie has made use of his water container many times during these 3 weeks.
Another good source for them to get water and other nutrients are freshly washed, dripping wet veggies. You can also try those out.

I gather the honey bell is treat for him to eat and not not something to eat on a daily basis.
Your budgie should have access to a good and balanced diet consisting of a good seed mix, pellets, veggies and the occasional piece of fruit.
You can check the stickies on this section of the forums for all the detailed info.
