Default Parsley and spinach

As some of you know, I've been trying to get Jakob to eat veggies, fruit, berries... even spray millet. But she likes her seeds, and if you give her something else she just doesn't eat.

There are bits of dried fruit and veggies in her seed mix. She picks them up and throws them on the floor. She has started eating egg food, but it's still mostly seeds.

A while back I decided to try to throw her veggies in the bathtub, because she loves her bath so much. She played with the veggies and drank way too much water, but that was about it.

I still offer her veggies all the time. I hang them in the cage or on her toys, I've tried using her little food dishes, but nothing worked.

Then I went to the petshop a few weeks ago and found a shiny little food dish for cats. If nothing else, I figured it would look more organised with her veggies on that dish. She instantly started playing with the new dish, and what do you know... she started eating her veggies!

It's by no means everything she'll touch, but she can chew on parsley for hours on end now, and she loves baby spinach.

So the moral of the story is that even the pickiest little eater gave in when she got a fancy dish

Oh that's great!

My Jimmy likes seed and loves millet and will eat grit but hasn't touched anything else I've given him so far. As I've had him only a little while, I've not overwhelmed him and have just tried bits occasionally but when I think he's read I'll see if something like this might tempt him. What a great idea!

Best of luck with little Jimmy. I've tried with just about everything, so I'm so excited to finally see results!

I know, and now I'll have to be creative about finding a dish she'll approve of for the cage as well, as she won't spend time on the cage floor...

I noticed you said you feed Jimmy Grit, Budgies do not need grit ad in fact it can be quite harmful for them. Birds that require grit have a gizzard and need the grit to help break down the food budgies don't do this.

That's wonderful! Guess she just needed a fancy dish That's something Mallorn would do, she actually only eats out of silver spoons, I've tried to give her seeds from a plastic spoon and she will have none of it It must be a princess thing

Good job, your Highness, for eating your veggies!
