Default Egg food and sprouting questions

Hello everyone, I have a few questions regarding my budgies' diet.

1. I would like them to begin consuming more protein and am therefore interested in feeding them egg. However, I do not know whether it is necessary for me to make my own egg food or if the mixes at pet stores are nutritious enough.

2. I am going to begin sprouting my seeds but have a couple of questions and concerns regarding it. Is it absolutely necessary for the seeds, legumes, and whole grains that I use to be organic? And, is apple cider vinegar an effective way to disinfect the water?

Any other tips on egg food and sprouting would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi, Leah

Egg food is easy enough to make that I'd do my own if I were you.
You can give just hard boiled egg or you can mix the egg with ingredients such as: cooked quinoa, flax seed and/or chopped vegetables.
I would suggest serving the egg food only twice a week unless your birds are molting.

Take a look a this link for information regarding Sprouting Seeds:

The seeds, legumes and whole grains do not necessarily have to be organic.
