Default Does 'anybirdy' know if these are OK as treats, or part of my budgies' diet?

Once again I find myself only half watching TV and concentrating yet again on browsing a well-known, excellent bird product website I buy some of my birdie bits from. (I'm probably buying too much for them, from lots of places, but I love getting things for my babies!) I'd appreciate any advice or opinions on these attached food products. I'm thinking the greens one might be good as my birdies are only interested in spinach and not other green veggies I've offered them; it may be a good way of them getting some healthy nutrients even if it's dried. I've read that too much spinach isnt good for them...?...

This weekend I made them an egg mix with crushed Harrison's pellets and other 'healthy goodies' in it. There's been mild vague interest in it and a bit of pecking. But not much. Perhaps they don't fully appreciate my culinary attempts. If so, they are not alone! :-)

Thanks.

PS I meant to say that they are already on quality seeds; the above would be as a nutritious supplement / extra kind of thing. And as mentioned above, I'm trying to get them onto pellets via the egg mix, but as yet, without success!

In veggies you can give your budgie Carrots corn snow peas brocolli, silver beat, apple. Don't give your budgie apple seeds avocado or onion as they are toxic.

I mix a good quality of seed for my budgie... I buy my seed from a produce seed store fresh every time when I need it...

1 cup of plain canary seed
1/2 of a cup of Jat Millet
1/2 of a cup of White Millet
Small amount of Hulled Oats

Mix this together and put it in a sealed plastic bag and store in a container in a dark cupboard... I don't use all of what I mixed up I just fill his seed dish up you have to have a good seed diet as well as pellets...I use budgie crumbles the brand is Vetafarm the Avain vet makes the brand I have I put them in a separate container to the seed....Indi loves his seed more than the crumbles... Hope this helps..

Thanks for that. I will see about making up a mixture but I think the seed I'm buying has most of these things n it. I've heard / read about the crumbles but haven't as yet found them on a site here. (UK). Will look further afield.:-)

Thanks for the link.I checked it out but as it's Australia and I am in the UK, it'd be very expensive for me to get. :-(
They've been having their usual seed, and along with this I've been putting the 'egg mix' I made in their cage and not giving them the usual treats, to try and get their attention on the mix! Simmi ate a wee bit earlier on, and Jenni tried a tiny bit, but on the whole, I think they're fairly underwhelmed by it!
I put spinach, boiled egg, crushed pellets, dried parsley, sweetcorn and drops of the multi vitamin stuff the vet gave me for their water. I ground it all down. I'll persist for a few days more and see, as with them not liking greens other than spinach (which apparently they're not meant to have too much of?) it'd be good for them to have it. I was thinking though if there was a flavour I could add it it that I knew they liked, then they might eat it more readily! ..?!.. They like tangerine but I'm not sure such juice would work with the mixture? Maybe you wou!d have an idea?
I've also started putting pellets in with their seed....and will see... But to try and give them some nutrients, I'm still considering that dried green stuff I found on a website and which I put at the start of this thread.... Ooh, its so hard trying to find the balance! They love the seed, and I've checked, and it hasn't got any artificial ccolourings or preservatives in it, plus it says it has added vitamins etc and is sugar free. It also has good reviews. Years ago with my other budgie, I took her off seed and put her onto Harrison's and her mood changed completely - for the worse, and I do believe she never forgave me!! She changed from being a sweet, affectionate lovely budgie friend to a narky', bitey one! Hence all my doubts and uncertainties about all this!
Sorry this is such a long post...and I thank you for your patience in reading it all! ,

You can't completely take seed away from your budgie he has to have some seed in his diet.. Someone else made a mistake by taking the seed away from there budgie and now he is losing weight.. you can leave the seed in one container and in the other container the pellets. You need to have a happy budgie .....

I also looked into the foraging greens mix and faerybae advised that the company recalls a lot of their products. She advised me to buy some shops dry herbs and make a mix myself, which is what I did. The dried herbs she suggested were Rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, parsley, and cilantro. I have a mix with all these except basil and cilantro. I put a two food dishes in the cage and put the herbs in one.

Here's the post with all the advice I got, in case it's helpful. I was asking about pellets, temperature, etc.
BTW, I bought some pellets from Amazon. It was more expensive but I was able to get some and I'm considering crushing some so they can get the taste.

Thank you very much for this.:-) It's all very helpful. Can you please let me know if Jimmy and Jay take to the pellets? I too have just starting crushing them up and putting it in with their seed...think they're ignoring it so far!:-) Time will tell whether or not they go for it!
