Hey guys! I've had my budgie for about 2 weeks now, and until now he's been eating only seeds. I waited a bit so his droppings would stabilize, the first days it wasn't it should have been, but now's ok, to make sure he's happy and healthy. Now i've decided to start giving him fruits. I tried to give him apple today, i cut a piece and stuck it between the bars, but he just wasn't curious to try it. Now i've put another fresh piece into one of his seeds bowls, but he seemed like the apple scared him (lol), he tried for about 3 times to find the seeds, but he just saw the apple, and after that he just went to the other bowl to eat seeds.
What should i do to make him eat fruits/veggies? Should I get rid of all the seeds and put some fruits in the bowls instead for one day(of course I won't let the fruits there for more than 2 hours)?
And, one more questions? How should i give him the fruits/veggies? Should i cut them smaller, or bigger?
It is great that you are working on getting him going on fresh veggies and fruit. The forum has a lot of great info on getting them going, and with patience and perseverance you will get him on them...
