Default My birdies get better food than me

Making another batch of birdie bread for the flock and i realized I spent more time preparing their food and treats than I do for the family lol.
The pic is still missing red bell pepper and kale anything else I should add?
My tiel Marty won't touch veggies but little does he know I pack it into his birdie bread while loves and is 80% veggies hehe if he only knew lol I crush the pellets and put them in for the budgies since they can't crack them in the dish
Had to share my helpers

Thanks, they seem very open minded these days and will try anything. It is great they have come long ways from the bird store seed. Ricky and Lucy would just run when they would see me hanging something in their cage to come and get a bite

Ok so I just copied this from my notes on my tablet I saved it a year ago

I'm not sure where the post went

Just whipped up a batch of cornbread for birds. Makes an 8" by 8" pan batch. After cooling I cut it into 1" squares individually wrapped and then stored in a freezer bag in the freezer. I take out 1 a day to add to afternoon feeding.

1/2 cup butter
2 whole eggs with shell
1cup milk
1/2teaspoon baking soda
1 cup cornmeal
1cup all purpose flour
1/2cup green pepper
2 each jalapeno peppers
1/2 cup seeds. (I have a mix of rape, nyjer, hemp, flax, safflower, canary and white proso)

-oven 375 degrees

-grease 8*8 glass pan

-melt butter
-add eggs and beat
-add milk and baking soda, mix
-stir in flour and cornmeal
-stir in seeds and finely chopped peppers
-pour into pan
-bake 30-40 mins or until toothpick comes out clean in center

-I use a small food processer to chop up peppers and eggshell
-I use 100% organic ingredients
You can add other veges and 1/2cup of pellets, but I mix this with a vegemix that has pellets and chopped kale so I dont add to bread recipe.

Rick

I follow that except I use whole where flour but use less because I ground the roudybush pellets to a flour consistency and I leave out the milk. This batch was
1/2 finely chopped red pepper
1 1/2 cup butternut squash
1 small broccoli crown (minus the stem)
2 ribs kale
1/2 bunch cilantro
1cup pellets to replace the flour
Replaced butter with a tiny bit of oil and water
And my birdie vitamins

Instead of using a pan I rolled about quarter sized balls plat and put just a tiny amount of seed on them before baking and at 400 for ten mins it was more dough like than batter

Hope that all made senc, every batch is different veggies but they don't seem to care they will eat it no matter what I put in it. My tiel won't eat veggies but will eat this and my budgie comes a running when he sees me coming with his piece.

That's amazing thanks so much. I'm hoping to wean our budgie onto a varied diet. I used to make our house rabbits bunny bread but that included adding some of their poop and my father in law ate some. But that is a whole different story
