Welcome to the forums!

The seeds in the photo you posted are called millet.
Your budgies need a varied assortment of seeds and not just millet. They need a high quality seed mix for budgies. Besides this, they also need daily intake of veggies. This section of the forums has valuable info on this subject. If you check the stickies, you will have a better idea on the foods to offer your budgies, so that they have a healthy, varied and balanced diet.

As to the sunflower seeds, these shouldn't be offered on a regular basis to budgies due to their fat content.

Take a look at these links below:

I agree about sunflower seeds not being used on a regular basis due to their high fat content. When you use them as a treat, you can even break each kernel in half. Weight gain can show up extra fast on tiny little bodies!

Hi there and to the forums!

You've been given great advice and I'm glad you'll be reading through the forums to expand your knowledge on the care of these gorgeous little birds!

If you read through all the "stickies" (posts stuck at the top of each subforum for easy reference) and still have questions, be sure to ask as we'd be happy to help

Hope to meet your birds soon and I'm happy to have you on the forums with us!
