Its great your budgie are eating veggies and fruit! I feed veggies to mine every morning and than fresh in the after noon.
Fruit just once or twice a week because of the sugar in it.

HI

You may also want to take a look at this 'Sticky' about other unsafe items it is a bit longer than the foods to avoid list but still good to reference now and then.

I put some grated carrot and mixed lettuce in a saucer, sprinkled it with a little of there seed and put it in there cage not really expecting them to go near it so couldn't believe it when I looked into each cage and saw them eating it

It's great that your budgies have tried some vegetables.

If you read the stickies in the Diet and Nutrition section of the forum, the Budgie Articles and the Budgie Recipes, most all of your questions regarding a healthy diet for your budgies will be answered.

Best wishes as you help your little ones enjoy a healthy diet and happy life!

Wow, they can eat so many things from my garden. I have loads of lavender, mint, thyme, kale, and more.

That's awesome that you are getting your budgies to eat veggies! You have been provided with some great links to even better information! Take it, absorb it, and use it well!

I'm glad your budgies have started to try their veggies, Julie! That's great they liked the carrot

As you give them other things to try, they surely will find lots of other things they love, too
