Default Nutriberries

So my new babies, Benji (short for Benjamin) and Mabel have been settling in nicely, but so far I cannot get them to touch pellets. They were on a seed diet before, so I threw in some Nutriberries with the pellets and they LOVE it. I read on the container that they are nutritionally comparable to a pellet diet, and I was wondering how true that is. If it is just as good for them I may just keep them on that (along with veggies, of course).

The nutriberries are a great way to convert healthy birds to pellets. Choose your pellet, and crumble your nutriberries. slowly add more and more pellets and less nutriberries. The biggest drawback with nutriberries in my opinion is a high sugar content. Bird's that are overweight or suffering from AGY or any other fungal affliction should not be fed them, nor would I want them to be my bird's main staple...

I agree with Jonah, although Nutriberries are similar to pellets, they are too high in sugar to be a daily part of their diet

His advice to help them transition over to pellets with Nutriberries is great, I hope that that works for you! Since they enjoy the Nutriberries so much, I reckon they may take to the pellets fairly easily as well.

Good luck!
