Hi all,
I'm going to get some food from my local pet store and wants to know which brand of Mineral block you guys recommend or is good for budgies? Also I have seen some mineral block shells too? Are those shell kinds necessary for budgies or simple mineral block and those shell ones are the same?
Thanks

Hi,
As I've tell you that my budgies' wings colors are getting brownish kind of like fading, they're not bright as they were when I got them. So I got them HB food Power Treats and made them into small pieces but they're still bigger than the HB High Potency Super Fine so what should I do? Can I grind them after making it to somewhat small pieces? Because those pieces the way they are now, if I try to make them small then they become powdery and both ways my budgies are not able to eat. So suggest me what should I do? I got this for them as it says it has Plum oil which is good for their feather's health and glow.
Thanks

You can try to crush them to smaller pieces and if they happen to be reduced to powder, you can sprinkle it on their main food or even make a mash with veggies.

To improve feather quality, you can simply supplement your budgie's diet with egg food. This is even recommended when budgies are moulting alongside flax seeds and Niger seed, for example.

As for the mineral block, I don't know which brands you have available in your country, so I can't be of much help.
This is something that you can easily reach a conclusion on by comparing the components on the mineral blocks and see the differences between brands. If you want a professional opinion, then you can consult an avian vet about this.
Besides a mineral block, your budgies should also have access to cuttlefish bone.

If you haven't done so already, please check the detailed information on the stickies at the Diet and Nutrition section.

Yes, they do have access to cuttlefish bone. And thanks for your tips.
