Default Budgie is a seed-lover?

Hey y'all! My budgie, Chico is only eating seeds and nothing more. For instance, he won't eat any vegetable or leaf I place in his cage.. He will only eat his seed diet and some seeds from a treat stick thingy that's hanging on his cage.. Today I tried to mix his regular seed with some chopped lettuce. I cut the lettuce in small pieces and just mixed it all together and placed it in his feeder. I also removed the treat stick from his cage cause he immediately went to launch on that instead of what I've made for him. He finally got really hungry and visited his feeder, but it seemed like he still just ate the seeds.. he would bite some of the lettuce but he then threw it at the bottom of the cage and continued munching on the seeds.. He actually did this for a veeeryy short period of time, and I think he did not eat as much as he wanted to and he's not full yet.. I read somewhere that I can keep the lettuce there for two hours appr. but he hasn't eaten like anything and I'm thinking of leaving it overnight and removing it early in the next morning.. What do you guys think??

Depending on the budgie, it can take some time for them to be interested in trying fresh foods. By being persistent success will be achieved, you will have to find a way to present the veggies that sparks your budgie's curiosity and makes him try it out.
Some budgies prefer their veggies chopped up and placed on a bowl, while others like them whole and attached onto the cage's bars.
Once the lettuce shows the first signs of being withered, that's when you remove it. There is no point in leaving the lettuce overnight.

You will find all the detailed information on this subject by checking the stickies at here at the Diet and Nutrition section.

Before creating a new thread, be sure to first look for information on the stickies because most if not all basic questions are answered there.
