Default Suggestions for other veggies to mix it up?

There's a feeding frenzy at my zoo tonight! I am currently feeding a mix of green leaf lettuce, kale, chard, carrots, broccoli, and a couple of leaves of spinach. These guys love it, but I'm wondering if I should give them more variety?

It's great that they eat so many veggies already! If you'd like, you can add some frozen thawed corn to their mix, and perhaps some snow peas.

To be sure, your budgies already enjoy quite a variety

How wonderful that they eat so well! Good job! They're all so adorable <3

If you are looking for more inspiration check out the my post What's on the menu today? I and lots of other users have posted ideas and pics of our budgies meals. I started it to get inspired, because I get in rut (same with feeding my family LOL!). I'd love to see your posts on there too. Inspire me!

You can try finely chopped celery and/or some pieces of grape if you want!

Herbs are really healthy! Basil, rosemary, oregano, parsley, cilantro and cinnamon are a few of them.
I also feed Banana bell peppers.
Looks like you've got them on a very healthy diet!!!

I tried cooked corn, and it made their food very mushy. Can I just defrost and add without cooking?

That's a great post! My food looks very boring, as my birds prefer it ran through the food processor rather than cut or whole, but I will keep an eye on the thread

I don't know why I didn't think of herbs!! And what colors of peppers do you use?

Yep! No cooking required I just thaw it in some warm water, drain, and serve

By the way, my girl likes orange peppers best

Oh and in the summer my boys' favorites are Dandelions and Chickweed. Neither I nor any neighbors use chemicals on our lawns or gardens so they're safe in my yard. Be careful if picking from an unknown place.

They LOVE raspberries and strawberries from my garden too. I frozen some just for them this year. They get one about once a week or so. You can always tell when it's "Berry Day" as it looks like a massacre happened in their cage! Boy budgies have red all over their faces, it's on the perches and ladders. Scared me to death the first time LOL

They LIVE for sprouts. Well, Oliver does. Pigwidgeon enjoys them, but Oli loses his mind over them. I usually have something in the sprouting jar at all times, though over the holidays I didn't do much. They had PLENTY of other greens, including a pot of Organic Wheat Grass in their cage for constant greens. It's about dead now so time to get another one. They play in it and nibble it all the time.
