Default Any tips for getting budgies to try fruits and vegetables?

Monty is sooo unadventurous when it comes to trying new veggies! She likes cress and will eat a bit of cucumber when she's given it. I've tried most things to get her to try new foods, leaving them wet- so that the water captures their eye; cooking them; hanging them from her cage; putting them in a pot; and even me eating the food in front of her. Nothing will encourage her! Instead she just sits on her food pot perch and picks the food up (tonight it's melon) and throws it onto the bottom of her cage.
Is there anything I can do to encourage her to at least try them?

You can try sprinkling a few seeds onto the fresh foods and see if that sparks your budgie's curiosity. And while you present the veggies/fruit in different ways (chopped up and on a bowl, whole and attached onto the cage's bars), you will see which way Monty shows more signs of reception. I prefer to offer the veggies fresh (not cooked, nutritional value can decrease) and dripping wet.
Eventually Monty will give it a go, what's most important is to not give up during the process.

For all the detailed information, check the Diet and Nutrition section.

Many threads regarding introducing new foods to your budgies are easily accessible if you simply take the time to read the stickies in the Diet and Nutrition section of the forum.
