Unhappy My Budgie Keeps Eating!

Today, my budgie, Skye, has been eating a TON. I haven't seen her hardly leave her food bowl. I am getting worried and I want to make sure that she isn't getting obese. She has been doing this thing where she'll only pick out the stuff she likes and eats that, I don't know if that's why she's been eating all day because it takes long to do that or what. Her diet is pellets, currently i'm trying to introduce fresh fruit and veggies as well but that hasn't been going well. She sometimes gets millet but only as a treat. Please help me! why is she eating so much!!??

Budgies will generally eat between 1/2 and 1 tablespoon of pellets or seed mix daily along with some vegs & fruit. All birds have a high metabolism so will eat frequently during the day. I wouldn't be concerned if Skye is eating pellets and some seed...vegs & fruit can be selective to individual birds. Don't worry...just offer a variety.
Some budgies tend to grind up pellets and eat pieces which are their preferred size, and may spend more time at the food dish.

Are you weighing Skye regularly?
How is her activity level?
Are her droppings normal?

If everything is normal and she is not gaining or losing weight then I wouldn't be concerned.

Are you weighing her regularly?
