Default Does anyone feed their budgies nori? (seaweed)

I absolutely love sushi and so I often have nori sheets in the house. I was wondering if this would be okay to give to my budgies, perhaps dampened down to make it softer. I have heard in places that seaweed has a lot of good benefits but, haven't really found a definite answer. The only ingredients are seaweed, more specifically Porphyra. I would like to try this out with the budgies but only if it is safe. I have read that despite coming from the ocean seaweed is actually low in sodium but I'm unsure how true this is. Does anyone on here feed their birds nori, or do you have any more information? Google wasn't very helpful.

I don't feed my birds (or myself very often) nori but do have one possibly-helpful point. Like everything else that we give our budgies, you would want to make sure that the plants were not grown with pesticides or otherwise contaminated. It also occurs to me that depending on the nutrients in the sea weed, it might be something you could only feed them in small amounts.

That is my best science teacher answer.

Good luck with your very special birdies!

Thanks for your responses. I definitely won't be feeding it unless I am 100% sure, so for now I'll just stick to using it for sushi.
