Default Budgie wonít eat

I recently inherited my grandmas Budgie. She got him in July 2017 from a local pet store. Since the middle of December sheís been in and out of the hospital and will now be moving to a retirement/nursing home where she canít take the bird. He was at the apartment with people checking up on him everyday and taking care of him as we waited for news if my grandma was returning home. Now that we know she wonít be returning home Elvis (the bird) will be living with me.
He came to my house 4 days ago. He was quiet the first day, which I expected as we just moved him to a new house. He started to chirp and play with his toys the next couple of days. However I noticed he hasnít eaten anything besides the millet. He is on all the same food and same cage as when he lived at my grandmas, nothing changed, besides the location.
I have 2 dogs but they donít bother him as heís on a high table they canít reach/see him.

Iím thinking he may be depressed and miss my grandma?
Is there anything I can do to help his appetite?

Hi! to Talk Budgies

Thank you for taking Elvis in and for giving him a safe and loving home.

You say he hasn't eaten...is there poop in the cage?
If you see that Elvis is pooping regularly, then he is also eating (probably just when you are not around).

Have you had budgies before?
This forum will give you all the information you need to ensure you know the best practices to follow for Elvis' optimum health and well-being.

When you aren't around during the day, be sure you have some music or the TV playing for Elvis to keep him company.

Thank you guys so much!

Elvis is pooping, so I guess he is eating. I had a Budgie 15 years ago in elementary school and he was a piggie so I am used to that lol

I will try and upload some pictures of Elvis as he is a cutie!

If he's eating millet, that's budgie candy and if he has the choice of eating all candy or healthy food, budgies will eat budgie candy (millet). Provide a good seed mix, some veggies and start him working on a pellet mix and only give millet as a treat...only available once a day. I'm sure he'll start eating a healthier diet with gusto.
