Default Kowhai's diet (plus his moult)

So here is a run down of Kowhai's diet each day. If there is anything I should add or change, especially as he is having a HEAVY first moult, please let me know!

First thing in the morning I give him his fresh vege and beans, but this past week I've been giving him the Sustanimal "Chop" I ordered.

At 10:30am he gets 1 tsp of seed, and he lets me know if I'm late with it!

I leave pellets in his cage and offer them while he's out too. He will only eat inTune Natural pellets that I have to blend to nearly powder in a coffee grinder (only used for pellets!) as he really won't even attempt to peck them otherwise. All other brands he refuses to even sniff.

Later afternoon I give him more fresh "Chop" and in the evening around 7:00 he gets around another tsp of seed.

I swear from what I've seen the seed is ALWAYS without fail husked EVERY LAST SEED. He eats ALL of it. He only seems to really peck at his pellets and munch occasionally on his fruit and vegge. But he might be eating more healthy stuff while I'm not looking?

I also read somewhere giving him egg powder during a moult might help? How do I feed him that?

Anyway, thanks for your time and any tips you all may have!

Hi Jesska, I've fed my two hard boiled egg a few times and they love it. Just hard boil your egg, but let it simmer for an extra 10 minutes or so. Mash it all up and feed to your boy. You can even give him the mashed up shell. It's an excellent source of calcium.

As Blingy said, hard boiled egg is good, if you prefer to use the egg food, you can buy, usually wherever you buy the seed, just put some in a dish and see if he will eat it. Most birds like it once they have tried it.

I just gave some hard boiled egg to Kowhai and he seemed pleased with it! So I'll try to give him some every few days.

I do similarly with veggies and pellets, and just remove the seeds first thing until heís nibbled the veggies then pellets. My boy also barely touches the pellets. However, for about a month now Iíve been mashing the pellet powder in water and embedding some seeds. Now he goes for that readily, for the seeds, but now he gets some pellets which coat the seeds.
