I want to attempt to make my own "Chop" mix to freeze to see if Kowhai enjoys it more than the chop I've been buying. Lately he just seems to be picking for the rice and oats in the chop mix rather than the vegge, so I thought I might see if a homemade chop might encourage him to try some more things.
Here is what I was planning to put into the chop:
Long Grain Black Rice
Long Grain Brown Rice
(I've heard mixed things, that cooking is fine, but sprouting them is better...?)
Lightly Dried Red Chili
I don't know if I should add any fruit to this, or if this is balanced enough. Anyone have any suggestions?
This seems very well balanced! I would cook the quinoa and rice since you're going to have sprouts anyway. I posted a recipe for veggie balls that my guys LOVE that you can also try. Fruit may make it taste a little better, I put a banana in both the fruity recipe and the veggie recipe in mine. https://www.talkbudgies.com/recipes-...gie-balls.html
