Post good food brands?

ive been looking for some healthy and good pellets and seeds for my birds but not all that familiar with them so i was wondering what brands are good and which ones are not. also why they are or are not.

right now im feeding them a mix of Zupreem Fruit Blend and Hagen's Budgie/parakeet staple seed.

Those are both great! I personally feed Zupreem Sensible Seed and Zupreem fruity pellets. A lot of people recommend Volkman's in the US for seed and for pellets, Harrison's and Roudybush. One brand I would never buy is Kaytee, their stuff is really low quality generally and sometimes contains things that are really not good for birds (like yogurt covered seeds? Birds are lactose intolerant...)

As far as pellets go, I have found Harrison’s to be superior. I’ve used Harrison’s for about 20 years, and my birds have shown excellent blood work results, along with vibrant coloring. One of my parrots has been on it long term and is 24 and going strong . You can’t get it in pet stores, except for some bird specialty stores. But it’s available online as well as through some avian vets.

ive read some some posts the Zurpeems Fruit Blend isnt the healthiest to feed them but they never said why. might try their natural pellets once i run out but not sure.

yes ive noticed that Harrison's is fairly popular on here. kinda annoying that its harder to find but it does look like a good brand since it says its organic

If they made natural pellets the "canary" size my guys would be all for it.... they refuse to eat it if its any larger. Love their fruity pellets though, I know it's not the best but it's something at least

They do, Katherine! Harrisonís makes ďsuper fineĒ which is much smaller than fine. My guys eat the fine no problem, but itís nice that they do make a smaller pellet. Iím not sure that itís as small as the zupreem smallest size, but itís at least a third if not a quarter the size of the fine. Definitely small enough for a budgie. I think Harrisonís gives samples if you contact them.

Hmm it's tempting to get the Harrisons especially with how highly rated it is on here. Do they really do free samples?

I have heard that they do. Once, my vet had small sample packets they gave me. Here is Harrison’s website to ask them directly about the sample packets . Harrison's Bird Foods

The Harrison's super fine are the same size as the Zupreem canary ones, I use both of them.

Default Bugle feed

I give my bird Encore foraging feast. It's a mix of seed and various fruit nuggets. I dump his dish daily and give him a new batch every morning. I waste quite a bit but like to keep it fresh. Do any of you use this or have any issues regarding this feed? I buy it at my local HEB.
