Default Bird Mash & a question about corn

My newest additions are thankfully NOT picky eaters, and have so far gobbled up everything I've given to them. Thank you to their breeder for making sure they had the best diet!

I did post these pics on another forum, and a member mentioned that her vet does not recommend feeding corn in any version (Fresh, frozen, on the cob, dried, or sprouted). She mentioned that more and more vets are considering the possible link between corn and AGY in budgies.

I've done some internet searching, but haven't come up with any evidence for or against this theory. Has anyone else heard of this?

I know corn is high in sugar, and AGY doe thrive with higher levels of sugar, so I'll likely not feed corn all the time and will cut back on adding it.

The mash : Boiled eggs, sprouts, corn, peppers, spinach, carrots, celery, basil, this is just what i had on hand and in the garden this week.

They are adorable and seem to love their veggie mash

I reckon that the only reason that corn wouldn't be good in high amounts is the sugar, I haven't heard anything else

Messy beaks, happy tummies. I have not heard about any AGY link, corn is a good source of vitamin A but as StarlingWings said it does have a lot of sugar which makes too much of it fattening.

Oh how adorable those pics are . I’ve heard that corn isn’t that nutritious compared to other veggies. Mostly starch and sugars.
