Default Want/Need to try different Seed & Pellets

Out little Cisco is doing well. We've had him for 17 days now. He is pooping and eating and drinking; but my husband who spends the day with him worries that he is not eating enough or doesn't like his food. He mixes 1t of Dr. Harvey's Best Parakeet Blend (and another 1t in the afternoon or he'll eat it all at once) and Harrison's High Potency Superfine in pretty much equal parts each morning.

He seems to pick through and only eat some of the seeds, not sure which, and does not like the Harrison's pellets at all. So Hubby wants to try different food. I see that Volkman's had FOOD COLORING??? I'm no nutrition nazi, but food coloring for BIRDS? No.

What are some seed mixes and pellets that your birds like?

Volkman's seed mix is a high quality seed and I use it for all my birds.

Roudybush Natural pellets are a good choice.
I would suggest you start with either the crumbles or the minis.

The only coloring is on the oyster shell in the Volkman's mix, and they typically don't touch that anyway. I am switching my birds to Harrison's pellets after feeding them Zupreem fruit blend for a while. I found that it was easier to get them to eat the fruit blend at first.
