My budgie really likes my fidget spinner (I know cringey but he really thinks it's interesting) and he wants to look closer and chew on it but I'm not sure if he can. I have a full brass one, and one with plastic and some sort of metal. Are either of these safe for him to chew on? I don't wanna risk it by any means.
The brass one, certainly NOT. Do not let your budgie near it. It could have other metals like lead in it, so you should not let your budgie chew it.
The other one, if you don't know the if the material is safe, it just it isn't worth the risk. Just keep them both away from your budgie.
You can get some other chew toy for him. My budgies like this chew toy: https://www.amazon.com/Wesco-Origina...sco+bird+kabob
Brass is a metal alloy made from copper and zinc (zinc is unsafe) and the other metal is unknown.
Your budgie is probably interested in it because you're playing with it and it's moving.
Here is a link (mixed reviews) for a 'fidget spinner' type toy of his own: https://www.amazon.co.uk/WJ-31135-Ac...spinner+mirror
However, it is mirrored, so be watchful for any over attachment. Perhaps with a bit of searching, you can find a similar product without mirrors.
