Default Cere looking dry? Possibly mites?

Hello!
I recently (three days ago) got a budgie, and I've noticed his cere looks a bit weird. He's the first bird I've ever owned, and I'm not sure whether I'm overreacting and he's completely fine, or if he's actually quite unwell. I've got a picture of his cere and beak to show you:

When I checked google, it said that it might be scaly face mites, but all the images I could find were quite severe cases so I couldn't tell whether he had it from them. Thanks in advance!

Hi there and to the forums!

I also am unable to see the photo you posted, Therm has given you a good link to look at to be able to post better ones

Keep in mind that if your bird is a female, the cere will get brown and flakey in appearance.

I hope to see photos of his/her cere soon!

Meanwhile, you've come to the best resource on the internet to learn even more about budgies!

Be sure to read through the links provided above, which include the forum's many Budgie Articles and "stickies" (threads "stuck" to the top of each subform for easy reference) to ensure you're up to date on all the best practices for budgie care. You'll find information on all your questions (including some you don't know you have yet ) on the forums.

If you have any questions after reading through everything, be sure to ask as we'd love to help

We'd love to meet your little one when you get a chance, and look forward to seeing you around the forums!

Cheers!
