Hi my little dude dave chapelle age unknown as took him in to take care of him as he was bought as a bulk lot (not me this is my only winged family member) and would only sit on the floor and not fly, I have had him for 7 month's and know that he is at least a year old,. Didn't know anything was wrong with him when took him in thought he was just sick but soon perked up when he was inside in a cage of his own, but soon noticed he couldn't fly walked around in circles then stops and bops is head to the side and back and stares up, can not seem to tell where the edge of most things are and falls off and just sits laying on his back instead of trying to get back up, also think he maybe partially blind and when going on circles or or moving any way he will when his head touches something he knows to either stop or move back. He has been off his food and drink for a week now so I took him to the vets as I was getting very concerned about him the vets confirmed what I didn't want to hear and that he has brain damage and due to him not eating and drinking thus week has lost alot of weight I was given a glucose liquid to give him 2 to 3 drops every hour orally to try help him give him some energy and to get him back eating and drinking. But I was left with some disheartening few sentences from the vet, that dave chapelle may not last much longer how he is as he is very weak in him self etc I was told if after a few few days if this liquid doesn't help him and he doesn't perk up the best thing for him would be to put him to sleep. Is there anything I can do to help my little dave chapelle he is a big part of me and would devistate me to lose him but at the same time I don't want to cause him any more suffering that isn't needed all he is doing is just sitting in one spot of his cage for this last week and hasn't churped once like he used to, even when he is out and with me he just sits doesn't climb up me to rub his head on my cheek like he always does. Advice on what would be best for him and not me would be greatly appreciated many thanks.
