Default Maybe a feather cyst?

Hi, new here, my budgie Jim Jim has a weird lump on his wing. It seems to hurt when I touch it but he doesn't pick on it or anything. I was doing some research and thought it might be a feather cyst but I don't see any feathers or quills. Any thought of what it could be? Also, he's a rescue and probably around 10 years old and I only got him around a year ago so not sure of all his health issues.

Looks like it could be a cyst. I suggest you take him to an avian vet to get checked out. By the way, did you clip his wings that way? It just looks like a very severe clip, I could be wrong, it might just be the way the picture was taken.

Hi Alinea and to the forums!

Yes, that looks like it could be a cyst. The only way to properly treat and diagnose it is to take your little one into the avian vet

Be sure to update us after the vet visit! I hope Jin Jin heals well.

Meanwhile, you've come to the best possible place to learn more about budgies. Be sure to read through all the budgie stickies and articles we have on here to stay updated on the very best of budgie care practices! If you have any questions after reading through everything, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help!

We hope to see you and your little one around the forums!

Cheers

I do clip his wings but it's probably just the angle. I've always clipped my parakeets wings. But thank you for your answers! Hopefully gonna be able to take him in soon.
