Default Blood?

Okay so I came downstairs this morning, uncovered Mallorn, and there was one spot of poop that was runny and blood colored. I panicked, changed her food and water, looked up symptoms, ect.
It said that kidney disease or heavy metal poisoning were likely causes, however I don't think it would be that because I sat with her for a while and her next droppings were fine, firm, not runny at all. Is it possible she could have just passed a sharp piece of wicker or something? She chews avidly on a toy make of woven wicker and palm, maybe she got a little splinter? She's eating, drinking, chirping, being active, and other than that everything seems fine.
What could this be?

Are you sure it was blood and not dye from a toy or from colored pellets?

Did Mallorn eat carrot in the morning? Some of mine go nuts for carrots and their poop turns into a dark orange colour, but theirs is firm into the normal shape and not watery.

Sammy has had heavy metals poisoning, and he was very sick and still didn't have any blood in his stools (thank goodness!). I believe that the heavy metals would tear the intestine (heavy metals get "caught" in the intestine because they are heavier than the food that budgies eat which would expel them), causing the blood, and you would probably notice many other symptoms before the blood. I'm not sure about kidney damage, but my guess is that blood in the feces would also be an advanced symptom.

I've also heard of dark blood in droppings from a crop burn, but this is mostly in chicks.

If Mallorn is acting fine with no other symptoms, and you're watching her like a hawk, then I think you're ok to observe her. If the symptoms repeat in the next 48 hours or she seems like she's feeling poorly, then I'd recommend getting her to an avian vet quickly (which I'm sure you would do anyhow).

Best of luck! Mallorn is much to pretty to be causing you grief.

I'm almost positive, I know what her red-pellet poop looks like, it's lighter and more pink red and the white part is clearly visible. Here's what it looks like:

Thank you so much I will definitely be watching her like a hawk, more like an eagle with a telescope. I always have her with me when I'm sitting at my desk anyway (most of the day) so I'll keep track of any other symptoms. Right now I'm looking at her and it looks like she's fine, she's been chirping since I got home, napping as usual, eating and drinking fine and the rest of her droppings look normal...

I believe Mally is going to be just fine since nothing else has been off and she hasn't done it again during the day today.

Please let us know how she's doing tomorrow, OK?

She is such a beautiful bird...

If it were me, I would do as has been suggested, and just keep an eye on her behavior, and monitor her dropping's...
