Default budgie eye issue!!!

hii everyone,
I noticed that when I was giving my budgie her med for mega bacteria today that there was white liquid coming out of her eyes they also seemed very shiny please help i am not sure if the med I give her might have by mistakenly came in contact with her eyes please help I have been giving med to my previous budgie and never had to deal with this before. I have no idea what to do
when i give her med she always resists so much and moves her head i am not sure if the med went into eye by chance along with this she vomits more violently than before when i give her medicine.

Rinse her eyes out carefully using a sterile saline solution.
If you don't have any, you can purchase it over the counter at the pharmacy.

Are you sure that it's coming from her eye and not that she is flinging medicine in her eye? It's not very common for budgies' eyes to "water" and is more a symptom of a cold. What medicine are you giving for megas? (antifungal or antibiotic and antifungal?) If you're giving her an antibiotic as well, that would clear up any lingering infection that she might have from her weakened immune system due to the megas. How long have you been giving her the medicine?

As FaeryBee suggests, I'd give her a good eyewash with saline solution and then make a chamomile tea and put a little plate over the top of the glass while it's cooling. When cool (and when you're giving her the medicine) put a little chamomile on some kitchen paper and hold it up to her eye - this will help with irritation and inflammation. It also is soothing to the eye.

Good luck with your budgie! You're doing a great job!

To rinse her eyes out, just hold her as you do when you give her medication and squeeze a drop of the saline from the bottle so it falls into her her (don't touch the tip of the bottle to her eye.) Do the same for the other eye.

It's important to rinse her eyes out well so you can see what is causing the problem.

Smile Budgie

You may need to get the vet to crop feed a couple of doses of Amphoteracin B to be sure the bird is ingesting the meds. The vomiting will cause dehydration so be sure to give the electrolyte in water or over moist food. The vet may give shots of reglan to stop vomiting as well but definitely Tell your vet ASAP if vomiting continues. A foreign body may be present in the eye or the eye may have been scratched. Eye issues can be handled by gentamycin drops or terramycin ophthalmic only ointment. no cortisone or related meds in the ointment. Blessings, Jo Ann
