Default First aid for bleeding budgie

I'd covered my birds for the night, not sure what happened but I heard crashing around, turned on the lights and found the cover slipped off the cage and my two little guys panting. There was a bloody wing feather on the floor of the cage, and I checked and Merry was bleeding under his wing. I checked past threads on what to do and put some cornstarch on the wound. I'm hoping that has stopped it, it seems to have. Wondering what I should do next. Checking on him to see if he's calmed down now... I tried to be as gentle as I could...

Sounds like you have done all you can for now. Let them settle back down and check again in 10 mins, if there is no fresh blood you should be okay for the rest of the night. In the morning you can give him a more thorough check to make sure there are no broken feathers that could start bleeding if knocked. If you find anything, you will need a pair of tweezers to pull them out.

Good luck

Thank you for your quick reply and for easing my mind. He's calmed down now and is going to sleep. I'll check on him in the morning.
