I'm sorry your budgie injured his foot.

First and foremost you need to try and calm down in order to better give your Rio assistance. You need to take a good look at the foot so that you see the extent of the injury and to determine if there is need for an emergency vet appointment or not (this can be lifesaving in the more severe cases of injury).

To stop the bleeding you can apply some cornstarch on the affected area. Betadine is also an important product to always have handy in the house, not only does it disinfect wounds, but also helps the bleeding stop and promotes healing. When it comes to washing wounds, a good option would be to use sterile saline solution.

Hi Timmy
Have a dig in your kitchen cupboard hopefully you've got some cornflour, dab some onto your budgies cut, that should stop the bleeding, Pete

thank you for your advise but would that hurt him as its powder and some powders can hurt on cuts?

Don't worry it won't hurt anymore than it already does, the main thing at the moment is to stop the bleeding and keep your bird calm, if the bird is stressed it will bleed more so try to be calm
