Default Bleeding from beak and nostrils

Edit: She died 10 minutes after I posted this. If there's a way for me to delete this post, I'm too shaken up to find it. Mods can feel free to lock it or delete it or whatever you want. I'm open to advice on what I could've done, in case I ever need that knowledge for the future.

I know a vet would be the place to go right now but my husband's got the car and he's at work. He's leaving now but it'll take him 1-1.5 hours to drive home and then another 45 minutes to drive to the avian vet. From the look of things, she'll be dead by then.

My budgie Molly was on a perch acting normal. Eating, drinking, singing, moving, etc. Then she started making sounds that sounded like wheezing or coughing, and blood started spurting out of her beak. She fell to the bottom of the cage and started shaking. Wings out, beak planted in the grate, one leg up in the air, convulsing, blood bubbling out of her nostrils too. I grabbed her with a paper towel and put her in a travel cage by herself.

She's calming down a little. The bleeding is slowing. She's still panting, still bleeding. But she's stopped convulsing, she's stopped making noises, and she's alternating between laying down and standing up.

I don't know what to do until my husband gets home. Cover her little cage, keep her warm and dark and calm... is that it? There's gotta be something else I can do...

I'm so very sorry.
That's really all you can do for her, unfortunately.

Is there a neighbor that could drive you to the Avian Vet?
What about taking a cab?

I'm praying for you and your little one.

Oh my, I'm so sorry your Molly is in such distress...
Given the severity of the case, your Molly really needs immediate assistance from an avian vet. Can't you possibly call a taxi to come over your house and take you to the nearest emergency clinic or avian vet?
You can start by making phone calls to see if there is an avian vet near you that can immediately see your Molly, and then you call the taxi.

You do well in keeping her warm and comfy. If possible, try to see if her nostrils aren't blocked from the blood, as she can have further issues with her breathing due to this.
To keep her calm, you can use your voice and talk to her. Playing some soft music can also help her relax a bit.

I truly hope you will be able to have her seen by an avian vet very soon.
I'm praying for the very best outcome for your Molly.

She just died. Thank you anyway, I appreciate the replies. Even if I had called a cab, she would've died en route. I hate living 45+ minutes away from my vet.

Anne,

I'm so sorry for your loss of Molly.

I'm going to close this thread.

If you'd like to post a tribute or memorial to Molly later, please feel free to do so in the "In Memory" section of the forum.

Fly high and soar free sweet Molly; rest peacefully wee girl.
