I might have just maced my birds!
Long story short, some chlorine accidentally got poured on some acid.
I'm worried that my birds may have breathed some in and I know a little can hurt a full grown human so I fear to think what may have happened to them. I can't tell if there's still chlorine in my apartment since all I smell is chlorine from the face-full I got. So far they seem normal but what should I watch out for?
You should watch out for laboured breathing and lethargy in a worse case scenario.
If you are unable to have your budgies' cage outside on a balcony area or backyard, then till the situation with your house is sorted, it would be safer for you to call a friend or family member to temporarily take in your budgies.
I hope everything goes well with your budgies. For obvious safety and general health reasons, it's best to not mess with powerful chemicals in the house or make experiments.
Aluz has given you the best possible advice.
I wish you all the best and hope that everything goes well! :fingerx:
