Default Ollie still has watery droppings

Hi everyone.

I noticed Ollie's droppings were watery and he was also being quieter, so I took him to the vet about 3 weeks ago and she prescibed Vetafarm Triple C antibiotic, he was on that for 12 days. I was also told to worm him and have him on a probiotic. So I bought the vetafarm wormout gel & probiotic. I have been giving the probiotic in his water for 3 days now, and have not yet wormed him. But I am thinking I will switch to worming him first, now. He is happy and active, but his droppings are starting to look worse again ever since maybe a couple days before taking him off the antibiotic.

I am also worried about the wormer, because it says have it as the sole source of water for 2 days, but what if he doesn't drink it at all over those 2 days? I never see him drink, even though I know they're sneaky with it. I usually only spot Daisy drinking. Her droppings are fine. You need to click on the picture for it to view the whole thing.

I'm attaching a picture of they're droppings. Ollie's are on the left, and there is one of Daisy's on the far right.

P.S. There is no avian vet in my state and it's not possible for me to take them to one out of state till I have a car.. this will be like a year away. So just had to take them to a regular vet.

Ollie's dropping doesn't look that bad in the picture you posted.

I would recommend that you give him the full course of the pro-biotics which will help to regulate the "good" bacteria in his gut.

Keep in mind that a bird's droppings can vary from day to day depending on what they are eating as well as the quantity of what they eat.

Best wishes!

Hi deborah, I will be putting them back onto the antibiotics the day after tomorrow as I've administered their water soluble wormer in their water for today & will do so again tomorrow.

His droppings have been looking consistently loose as in the photo since a few days before coming off his antibiotics, so I'm worried. He's been very active and happy though, which is a good sign. I'm callng the vet tomorrow.

I'm assuming you mean you are putting him back on the PRO-biotics rather than antibiotics, correct?

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. I wrote that right before I slept so I was quite tired.

Hi Deborah,
I thought i'd give you an update. I ended up doing what I thought was best which was to stop the probiotics and worm them for 2 days (in their water as directed) I was so paranoid/worried about not being able to see them drink the water over the 2 days, but they must have, as after I did that his droppings started to be less loose and I then continued them on a new round of probiotics and they've been really well thankfully.
