Default After vulgare oil he went into shock

Very urgent. We have given him origanium vulgare oil. And he suddenly he went into shock. He couldn't walk for 1 hour, his feet were useless for 1 hour. Now he is getting better, but he hasn't swallowed that vulgare oil. It smells disgusting. He is still trying very hard. What can we do to make him swallow. Very urgent please someone help. Vet says he doesn't work on Sunday.

Is this something the vet has prescribed?

He needs to see an avian vet asap. Try calling around different vets and see if you can get an emergency appointment.

Sorry this has happened, and I don't any advice other than to contact the vet. If it was my bird I would not give any more of that oil without more directions and clarification from the vet. You said he has not swallowed the oil, how much did you give him?

Real vet is on holiday weekend. There was assistant. He said one standart scale, that we give in small injector.

The problem is there are only 2 avian vets in Turkey, and they are all on weekend holiday. We called, messaged the doctor but he didn't answer. Cikos was really dying. I've done some research, and vulgare oil is fine, but only if you use it on a good scale. It's said even for a human 2 drops in about 1 liter. Be have given Cikos about 40 times more compared the body weights of a human and a bird. I am sure Cikos burned inside, and we tried to give him some water. He is ok now, but not have conscious fully. Very tired. Still smells vulgare oil. I hope we didn't burn some internals.

Yes but he forget to write the amount. So we called, send message, he didn't answer. We called his place. Assistant vet was there, and we did what he told us, one scale of vulgare oil in the small injector. But i learned that it is too much. He had to say he didn't know, or we wait for tomorrow to call.

Any update? I posted in your other thread, but I see now what has happened. I’m hoping for the best news.

I'm so very sorry for your loss of little
Çikos.

If you wish, you can make a thread in the "In Memory" Section of the forum about your happy memories of him or a tribute to his life.
It is because of Love we Grieve
And because of Love we are comforted in our time of Sorrow.

May time bring you peace and the joy of the many happy memories you shared with
Çikos
Fly high and soar freely dear Çikos; rest peacefully now little one.
