Default Cutie choking

Background: I went to see Cutie's old vet and he gave Cutie terabinafine as she could've aspergillosis and suggested poop test for psitacosis. This is the third day of her poop collection before I send it off but since its Monday bank it might be a day late.

Anyways, on 22nd of August I nebulised Cutie but usually after nebulising finishes Cutie usually waves her neck up and down before she settles.

However, on 22nd of August I gave her seeds immediately(I know a very big mistake) after she came out of the box and she started making choking sneezing sounds just like she did when she aspirated and dry seeds also came out -she vomited. And now whenever I nebulise her she makes choking sounds after it finishes.

Even today when I nebulised her eventhough it was just for 5mins she started making choking sounds before it was finished so I had to stop nebulising and she vomited clear liquid. I called her vet and he said that maybe the mucus has sifted. But today when I was feeding her before her bedtime she started making choking sounds again. It is a very scary situation and I usually panic a lot is there something that might help her?

I am attaching link to videos that I found were very much same to what Cutie does.

What medication are you using in the nebulizer, maybe that needs to be changed, some birds are more sensitive to certain drugs than others, I would talk to the vet about it. My mother had to use a nebulizer for a time and I remember that many times after the treatment she would be coughing like crazy.

Hi,

Its just F10 that we used and we have used it before aswell but at that time she just waved her neck up and down and then she would be fine. But now she chokes and sneezes and its really scary and I cant help but panic during nebulising. Do you think when I gave her seeds imnediately after she came from nebulising it might have become stuck?

Did the vet OK you giving the F10? You should not feed a bird during the treatment and I think it would make sense not to feed right after the treatment but ask your vet about it to be sure.

Yes the avain vet had given me the f10 it was ready to use, and yeah now I will NEVER feed her just after she comes from the nebuliser.

Anyways yesterday morning when I woke her up she had vomitted a lot and it had a sour smell. I told Cutie's old avian vet about it through email. I told him that she moulting and the sour smell from vomit. He has advised me to stop the Terabinafine and nebulisation for at least 36 hours and update him about the situation, he said she could have crop acidosis.

I have no idea what that is

I am not familiar with that term but I am familiar with crop stasis or sour crop, perhaps it is the same thing, that is when the contents of the crop does not move through the digestive tract properly and because of that the contents sit in the crop and can lead to bacterial or fungal problems. How is she now?

Hi

I started nebulising Cutie yesterday again and gave her a mirror toy to play with. Turns out she was really relaxed when she came out and didn't make the choking or sneezing sounds but I don't want to be too happy as it was only for 5mins once a day.

Anyways, there was F10 condensing on the mirror and cause Cutie was licking the mirror I just wanted to know if it is safe for her to lick the mirror with f10 condensed on it? it is an antiseptic solution that the vet had given to me.

I have also brought another f10 antiseptic ready to use bottle as I was running out with the one that the vet had made. Can I use this F10 antiseptic to clean her room I know that usually its F10 disinfectant that people use but can I use f10 antiseptic to clean her room?
