Hand-fed baby budgie has issues with crop

I don't know if this is new mother's paranoia or if my concerns are valid, but for the past two days my youngest baby budgie would have a few hours with an unusually full crop with more than half filled with air. I only today realized my method of prepping the formula was wrong, so it might be a case of sour crop (though from my observations the baby's crop is emptying alright). I can provide a picture of them if needed, I believe they are about 4-6 days old, though I could be wrong as I lost track of their hatching dates. I followed the instructions from another site to burp the baby bird, and now they are resting soundly and occasionally making a pop sound, I don't know if the baby is okay, though. I would highly appreciate some advice to help my babies.

(EDIT)
I don't know what I did wrong other than the preparation of the formula. The baby unfortunately passed away. Is there anything I can do in the future to avoid it from happening again?

Sorry for the loss of the baby. To successfully hand rear a baby bird it is essential that you learn everything there is to know about the subject. The babies need to be kept in a certain temperature range, given the correct formula at the correct temperature and at the appropriate intervals, all these factors change as the bird develops. What are the circumstances that led you to have to hand feed such a young bird? It is best to let the parents take care of them or co-parent them.

The only reason why I'm hand raising the baby at such a young age is because their mother died a couple of days ago from choking on something when we couldn't see her. Otherwise I would of let her and her mate handle it, and we don't have any other mated pairs with babies. There was a lot of frantic studying between me and my mother and I must of read somewhere wrong about the formula preparation.

How many other babies are there? Do you have an avian vet, I would suggest that you consult one and have them guide you, as nothing can take the place of hands on advice. There are several stickies on the forum in the breeding section that would be good for you to read as well.

Just the one baby remaining (and they seem quite healthy at the moment despite the rocky adjustments to the schedule), and there is an avian vet near me. My mother has been very hesitant about contacting the vet however, but I will try to persuade her- I did lots of research but also understand that it is good to talk to an expert nearby. Thanks for the suggestions.
