Default do i have 2 females...??

Hi all, a few weeks back i posted pictures of my blue budgie Casper and the majority verdict was female.
At a big pet and garden centre today i could not resist and came home with a new green budgie. in the store his/her cere looked a very pink lilac colour, once home it looks like there could possibly be white rings around the nostrils. my casper been showing off doing back flips all afternoon and getting excited. i will be a bit sad if i have two girls as they wont be able to be put together in the same cage and play together.
This is casper 5 months old now.https://

Tough call with these pictures. The blue I would say is definitely a female. The green may be a male.

Yes, you do in fact have two beautiful female budgies, no doubt there.
Cookie is showing the typical colour of a very young budgie girl. If it were a boy, the cere would have a pinkish/purplish colour with no white showing and would have kind of a translucent like see through quality.

Thanks for replies... Cookie was further away from the window when I took the photos as he had only been home an hour and didn't want to upset him/her. To the naked eye the cere does look very pink/lilac also now you have said it is more translucent towards the beak area.

The pictures you took of Cookie are good and were taken in natural lighting.
What I'm seeing is a light powdery blue cere mingled with white and that indicates female. The translucent part is actually on the whole cere and it can easily be seen in young budgie boys, their ceres are pinkish/purplish and we can even see the veins there, the ceres have a different kind of shine.
That's what I call translucency and see through quality.

Also, if your budgie girls have a nice temperament they can very well share a cage and be good friends.

You sure aluz? The green one looks like it has some pink mixed in in some of the photos, while in others there isn't any pink. So, male? Hmm.

I am pretty sure, yes. I don't see any pink in the pictures. Only a bit of light bluish colour mixed with white. As Cookie gets older, the cere will progressively turn whiter in colour.

I am staying with my original thoughts and say the green is a male.
