So as suggested by faerybee and Aluz and I will include milipidi here as well. Thank you for the support and in helping me with my baby budgies.
I went to the store and got the ingredients I needed for the egg food recipe that I was given. When I got home I put it together and placed in the cage for the babies to try and my oldest baby LOVES the stuff. He got right in there followed by daddy who seems to love it too so hopefully the other two babies will follow suit and try it out before I have to remove it. This has made me incredibly happy that at least my oldest baby and daddy like the egg food.
Well well well, just when things were gonna be tough having to feed Sprite by hand...
After Frankie and Cloud got their fill of the egg food I had left for them, Cloud waited about 5 minutes and went to feed Skye. I was worried about Sprite not being fed and she is so stubborn about being hand fed. I had dinner myself then I planned on feeding Sprite. Got everything I needed ready to go and when I went to get her, she was feeding herself with the dish of seed that is in their cage. I am so proud of her. She is learning how to break open the seeds on her own which is so fantastic I can't even put into words how proud I am of her. I only have one main concern. Is there danger in Cloud possibly over feeding Skye? His crop is quite full.
Yay, I'm so happy for you and your chicks!!
And you're most welcome, believe me this is the absolute best reward we can get. Happy and healthy baby budgies that are growing strong and eating with gusto the food we prepare for them. Egg food is a real life saver and very important for growing chicks and during weaning time.
Keep up the excellent job you are doing with your babies!
RIP sweet Tito (Summer 2008 - January 17th 2013).
You are missed and never will be forgotten.
Hey everyone. I need some advice on how to hand feed a very stubborn baby budgie. I've tried using the spoon and syringe but she just won't take it in... I am getting frustrated with her but I also don't want her starving to death. She tries the seed that I have in a dish in their cage and I also have some egg food in there as well. It looked like she had some earlier when I checked on them cuz she had food all over her face. My biggest concern is that she is not getting enough food intake. How can I get her to be more responsive when it comes to the hand feeding formula? Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm SO glad to hear the oldest baby and the Dad love the egg food.
I'm sure the two younger chicks will be following suit very soon!
It's wonderful that you are making good progress with them and I wish them all a very healthy and happy life!
Yeah I did and she still wont take it. She is crazy stubborn. I wish she was easy like the other two. But of course there isn't a single aspect of my life that isn't easy go figure. I hope someone has some suggestions
