Default when to add things to Georges new home

Hey guys! Just a quicky, carried on from another thread, hope you can help.
Ive been settlung George in for 4 days now, and I have just bought a few more toys and things for his fairly sparse cage. Also looking to change the floor from sand to newspaper as advised by some of you. Question is, can i do it all now, after hes just started getting used to his surroundings or will it set him back a bit?

Move slowly and calmly as you make the changes to George's cage talking to him reassuringly as you do so and he should be fine.

If he becomes too agitated, stop for a bit and talk to him for awhile until he calms down and then continue.

Don't put anything yet. Leave it at peace 5 to 6 days and after that, place one toy a day. I have had some problems with putting newspaper in the cage. The male budgie started eating the paper and got ill. It started to behave strange and to fall down from the branches. Probably was poisoned from the newspaper inks. Now I leave the cage floor empty, and i clean it more often.

Hello, I would add the toys now as FaeryBee has suggested but don't go overboard on filling the cage up . He will be stressed and could spook easily having too many things in there can hamper his movement.
You can change the toys every week or so ad this will help keep him interested.
I use kitchen paper on the bottom of my cage that is smaller and butcher paper on the larger cages.
Newsprint that is black and white is fine for the bottom of the cage.
