Please keep fingers crossed for baby rocky

Hello everyone

Just a quick vent as I am so upset today. Last night my poor devastated other half didn't see baby rocky on the floor and trod on him. Rocky was visibly very distressed and so we rang the vet immediately. We followed their advice overnight and this morning I took him to an avian vet.

The x-Ray shows no broken bones but he is so quiet and fluffed up, refusing to eat or sing. It's heartbreaking, he's normally my little pest, into absolutely everything. The vet is going to keep him/feed him for 24 hours to see how he gets on, but I just have a terrible feeling that his little organs might have been squashed.

I think my other half might actually kill himself out of guilt; he feels absolutely awful. And it was just a horrific accident. Rocky is never on the floor normally; he's usually too busy harassing our older bird!

Has anyone's bird survived anything similar in one piece? Please keep everything crossed for baby rocky, he's only 10 weeks old xx

All my very best thoughts and prayers for you and Rocky. Hopefully the vet will have good news. Maybe all he needs is some rest. Keep us posted.

So sorry. Hope little Rocky will just be traumatised and no damage done to him. I hope he is all right. Your poor husband must be feeling terrible. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get good news for Rocky.

I'm very sorry for what have happened. :( This is why we have to be extra vigilant when our little ones are spending their time out of the cage and be careful when leaving or entering the area they are on. By doing so, the risks of an accident are minimal.

I'm sending my prayers and best wishes for your little Rocky, I hope he will have a steady and full recovery.

Oh my goodness! Hopefully he has no internal damage, and this was merely a terrifying event for him. Rocky will be in our prayers that he recovers. And be easy on your other half. I really highly doubt that he could feel any worse about this. Being he is so distraught about it, keep a good eye on him also. You all will be in our prayers. I am so sorry that this happened. You did a wonderful job taking him right in, and I'm really glad to hear that there were no broken bones. Positive and healing thoughts and prayers being sent your way! Keep us posted on his progress, please. BTW, karma to you for being so quick on your toes and thinking so quickly to get him to the vet so fast! You are wonderful budgie parents. This was simply an accident, and I'm sure you've learned from it.
