Default Bonnie is getting so friendly, umm too friendly perhaps LOL

Bonnie has really settled in and is having a great time but last night he really left me speechless! I was sitting watching TV and eating some grapes as my dessert when whoosh Bonnie, who was out of his cage, swept down onto the plate and started sharing my grapes I was so surprised as he has never been an over friendly bird, I put a couple of grapes on his cage landing step but he didn't take any notice of them, he preferred the ones on my plate

Today for lunch I made a toasted ham n cheese sandwich and again Bonne swept down to share with me just a couple of pecks of the toast but I was so thrilled cos he also sat on my head watching TV for a minute or two.

Here he is enjoying his millet spray, he always starts from the bottom, weird or what

Cool! Sounds like the adage of "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" is true for your budgie as well.
Be careful not to give him any bites that you've already bitten. Human saliva is toxic for budgies (and dog and cat saliva, too, for that matter).

Thanks for that tip, it is good to know, I will have to remember to cut the grapes in half rather than use my teeth

How lovely that Bonnie has decided to join you for eating. That means he's beginning to accept you as a flockmate!

My bird started nibbling from my food as well...he likes Shreddies and yesterday started munching from my bowl! I'm happy because he is a timid bird and its taken him a LONG time to get comfortable with me

Sounds just like my Bonnie, I have had him for about 6 - 8 months and this is the first time he has shown any sort of friendship. Tonight I had Mince n Tatties and he was quite persistent in trying to get some but as it was hot and not like any sort of budgie food I had to tell him to go, but I had to be quite persistant, he even let me stroke his beak and I have never been allowed to touch him at all before this. He walked all around my neck a couple of times, landed on my right hand shoulder and then walked around under my chin to the other side then sat on the back of my chair, chattering away, it's quite a turnabout!

They have an uncanny ability to zoom in from anywhere when you have something to eat, I have to make sure Budget is in his cage now as he will insist on sharing everything I have Once I iced a cake and forgot to cover it as I had to grab the washing machine as it was unbalanced. Well, when I went back into the kitchen there was one budgie sitting in the middle of a carrot cake I must say the patterns on the icing were nice. But he then had to have a wash ,sticky feet LOL.

Last night I was enjoying some cheese and biscuits when whoosh, Bonnie was there on my plate sorting out which biscuit he preferred He went on the floor to investigate something and I had to go to the kitchen and he promptly tried to follow me. He has never worried about flying out of the lounge and normally is quite happy when I go out but last night he was persistent so I shall keep an eye on this increasingly cheeky bird
